- Study: Many PET reports are lacking key elementsResearchers who assessed PET reports based on a list of desirable elements from the American College of Radiology and SNM guidelines found that some of the important elements were missing in more than 40% of the PET reports, and that only nine of the 34 elements could be seen in more than 90% of the reports. The clinical indication for the study was addressed in only 56% of the reports, and "if the reason for doing the study is not clearly addressed in the impression portion of the report, the report is unlikely to have any impact on patient management," wrote Dr. Michael M. Graham, a professor in the radiology department at the University of Iowa. HealthImaging.com (2/1)
